Marble Vanity Etch Removal
Problem: Etching and Signs of Wear
An exquisite residence at Scottsdale Waterfront Condominiums in Scottsdale, AZ, featured a gourmet kitchen with granite countertops, stone flooring, and a gorgeous master bath retreat. Unfortunately, the St. Laurent marble vanities in the bathroom looked out of place in the elegant environment, because they had severe etching and signs of wear due to cosmetics and improper cleaning products, as you can see in the BEFORE images.
Given our reputation throughout Arizona, the owners decided to entrust us with restoring their vanities.
Solution: Honing and Polishing
The owners were concerned about inadvertent damage to the floors, cabinets, and walls during the restoration process. We assured them that on every job, we always mask and protect surrounding areas and work carefully.
We ground and honed away the etches and wear using a high-powered machine with diamond encrusted pads. Then we replaced the pads with progressively finer grits, until we achieved the exquisite polish you see in the AFTER images. Notice the clarity of the reflection compared to the BEFORE images. We finished up with a natural stone penetrating sealer to inhibit staining.
Our clients were extremely satisfied with their polished marble vanities and plan to have us back again when it’s time to clean and polish the other natural stone floors and surfaces in their home.
